2025 SMP is centered around a week-long Vacation Bible School (VBS) held during an annual summer mission trip to Korea and Indonesia.
A unique team of volunteers from the States flies to Korea each summer to serve for two weeks, visiting children in Seoul and Seosan (Chungnam), training VBS volunteers at Dongmyung Children’s Home, and running engaging VBS programs.
The team then travels to Java Island, Indonesia, to continue the mission by serving the children at our partner orphanage and supporting the local ministry.
The program is designed to develop the untapped potential of the young volunteers at Dongmyung by offering them annual VBS training. Many of these Korean youth volunteers later take leadership roles by organizing and leading worship services and Bible studies for the children throughout the year.

1. Who can participate in SMP 2025?SMP 2025 is open to adults and students who have a heart for serving children in orphanages. Middle school students can join as 'Jr. Staff' alongside a parent, while high school students may participate independently.

2. Can I bring my children to visit the orphanages? To ensure the most comfortable environment for the resident children, we kindly ask parents to make their first visit without their own children. This allows time to build trust with the children living in the orphanage. Once that connection is made, bringing your children for future visits is welcome. A single-day visit with children is an option, but the initial approach is preferred.
